American Litho is keeping up with its commitment to the American Cancer Society in the fight to defeat cancer. The Red, White and You team joined hundreds of others at Carol Stream Relay for Life last Saturday, June 25, where 23 teams helped raise $95,811.18 in donations for the American Cancer Society (ACS).
ALitho was awarded Gold Status as a team for the second year in a row, raising over $6,500 with plans in the works for a second event later in 2016.
One highlight from this year’s fundraising activities was the company-wide raffle of a 49” flat-screen TV. “We were looking for a way to create some extra excitement and gather more donations,” says American Litho Salesman Jim Raffini, who donated the TV. “There were plenty of people on the team that stepped up to sell raffle tickets, which was great to see.”
The raffle raised $1,760, which Jim donated to support ALitho’s Relay team. Congratulations to American Litho employee Rosa Mata, who took part and won the new TV.
Jim and the entire Relay for Life team extend their thanks to everyone who participated, with special thanks to Nizar Zayed, and our ticket sellers, Ellie Valadez, Jim Raffini, Sharon Rubar, Karie Vaughn, Dana Howell, Amanda Zaccari, Dempsey Knapp and Steve Pham!
Karie Vaughn headed up another successful fundraiser, designing a great basket for the donation raffle table.
The patriotic Red, White & You basket brought in $200 and included all the goodies needed for a summer holiday picnic: A $20 Jewel Gift Card, 2-table clothes, small blanket, napkins, candles/matches, big plates, 8 Small plates, silverware, glasses, 4th of July towel, salt & pepper, bottle opener, mosquito repellent, suntan lotion, 4th of July Skittles, coasters, stir sticks and an American Flag.
American Litho cares deeply about its employees and all the communities we serve – way to go Red, White, and You!
