Job Title: Pre-Press Manager

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Pre-Press Manager to lead our overall operation of the Pre-Press Department work in our high-volume, high-speed, multi-faceted print environment managing excellence in our state-of-the-art print facility.

 

Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Combination of education and experience demonstrating ability to perform the job.

Computer knowledge and experience with PC and Macintosh.

Ability to lead and direct the work of others.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work in a deadline-driven, team environment.

Ability to adapt to changing workload and schedules.

Attention to detail.

Advanced knowledge of offset printing a plus.

Thorough knowledge of prepress functions, color theory, calibrations, as well as hands on experience in 4 color printing preferred.

 

Responsibilities
Lead and direct the work of the pre-press employees including schedules and work assignments. Handle employee relations, training, hiring, performance and discipline issues including coaching and counseling. Improve performance of all employees through training, coaching and effective review procedures.

Monitor and control pre-press budget

Oversee the image preparation area, the operation of the ink and paper testing lab. Maintain plate and chemical usage and inventory. Ensure the correct calibration of the laser plate setter.

Maintain the correct color settings on all computers

Maintain a neat and safe working environment in the pre-press department

Assist with troubleshooting equipment, technology and print quality issues
